A Bit About Me

Hi! I'm SJ.  I have a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science, Certified Exercise Physiologist with ACSM, and a HAES informed Body Positive, LGBTQI+, all-inclusive trainer.  As a woman in a larger body, I have spent my fair share of time obsessed with exercise and food.  I am so grateful to have found my way to the body positive fitness community.  I am passionate about building this community and creating a non-judgmental safe space where people in all body types and from all cultures can find joy in movement and reconnect with their body.

What I Do

Train:  One on one or small group personal training, and group fitness classes. I'm passionate about corrective exercise for injury prevention, weightlifting and body mechanics, endurance, boxing, and kickboxing.

Recover:  The fitness industry is full of "no pain, no gain" and it leaves out a crucial piece.  Recovery!  I educate clients on how to help their bodies recover after and in between workouts.  For example stretching, assisted stretching, and soft tissue self mobilization, and REST!

Rebuild:  When we Reconnect with our body, Rediscover what movement feels good, and allow it to Recover, that's when our body is able to Rebuild and strengthen!

Schedule

I offer personal training in a shared gym space, remote at your home, outdoors, or virtual.  Each one comes with different limitations, and we can discuss which is the best fit for you. The group classes are Saturdays and Sundays and require registration.


Vaccine Requirements 

The gym facility is a vaccine required facility and starting January 2022, all TR^2 participants will also be required to show proof of covid vaccinations.  With this requirement, masks are not required while working out, but you may wear one if you feel more comfortable with it on.

Sunday Circuits Group Class

Circuit style workout that includes strength, mobility, balance, and kickboxing. Fun, challenging, and functional! You must register for class. Click the link to sign up​ for class

Saturday 11:30 am EXCEPT the first Saturday of every month.

Kickboxing Techniques Class

For all experience levels!  Learn and practice kickboxing techniques on heavy bags and practice application with a partner on focus mitts and kick pads. Gloves are available to borrow and sanitized after each class.  You must register for class.  Click the link to sign up!  TR2 Group

Personal training

While I focus on correct movement and body awareness in all sessions, during personal training sessions we will build a program specifically for you based on you wants, needs, and goals.  All goals are weight neutral and non-nutritional.  HAES informed, anti-diet culture training.
